PACE: GENTLE (LIGHT INTENSITY)
Aerial Restorative & Yin Yoga is a deeply calming, therapeutic practice designed to support the nervous system, relieve tension, and gently decompress the spine. Using a silky smooth, low-hung aerial hammock alongside traditional yin and restorative postures, this class offers full support for the body, allowing muscles to soften and the mind to settle. Poses are held for longer periods with the support of the hammock, bolsters, and blankets, encouraging deep release without strain.
Expect a quiet, nurturing atmosphere where you can rest, reset, and reconnect with your body in a way that feels safe and supported. This is a slow, restful practice with minimal transitions, with an emphasis on breath, stillness, and relaxation. No aerial experience is needed—this class is accessible,
grounding, and intentionally non-strenuous. The aerial hammock floats close to the ground and provides a sense of containment and support, allowing the body and mind to feel safe enough to 'let go'.
This class is especially beneficial for those experiencing stress, chronic tension, fatigue, or emotional overwhelm. Movements are slow, intentional, and spine-safe, making it suitable for beginners and those seeking a gentler, softer approach to yoga. There is no forcing, straining, or pushing - only invitation and choice. This practice supports spinal health, emotional balance, and stress relief, making it especially helpful for those navigating pain and nervous system dysregulation.
The framework is based on functional and accessible
practices, incorporating elements of yoga therapy with a focus on spine safety.
Yoga therapy takes a holistic approach to better health by utilizing yoga tools
to address specific physical, mental, and emotional needs and goals. A spine-safe approach ensures that the spine receives the
necessary movement to remain healthy while modifying postures that may be
unsafe or harmful for some individuals. This functional approach
accommodates skeletal variations and prioritizes accessible postures for
everyone. Through my inclusive classes, I create a supportive space that allows
students to embrace their whole selves, enabling them to nurture and heal. I
emphasize the importance of working with our unique bodies and modifying our
practices to celebrate our individuality.
