PACE: GENTLE (LIGHT INTENSITY)
Combining yoga with acupuncture creates a powerful, synergistic approach to health that enhances the benefits of both individual practices, promoting holistic wellness of the mind, body, and spirit. This combination offers a powerful session that enhances energy flow, deepens the mind-body connection, amplifies relaxation, promotes nervous system nourishment, reduces stress, improves sleep quality and pain management, and creates harmony within.
Students move through a gentle spine-safe practice, based on therapeutic postures and somatic applications, followed by a deeply restful Savasana. Auricular acupuncture (needles or magnets) is applied to support the theme of the month while in Savasana. Each session has a specific theme targeting physical, emotional, or nervous system health. Common themes include back pain relief, stress melt, detox and lymph flow, sleep support, emotional healing, immune boost, hormonal balance, mood support, digestive health, heart openers, and blissful relaxation.
This class is open to everyone, regardless of experience level. It is especially beneficial for those dealing with chronic pain, fatigue, stress, insomnia, burnout, anxiety, or trauma. This class is trauma-informed, meaning it is adapted to meet the specific needs and symptoms of trauma recovery. It emphasizes safety and choice while focusing on grounding and present-moment awareness rather than solely on physical postures. Each session begins with yoga therapy and guided relaxation, followed by an acupuncture sequence to amplify healing. Consider this a deeply holistic journey for the body, mind, and nervous system. For those not fond of needles, ear seeds (magnets) can be used instead. Auricular acupuncture might not be suitable for some individuals. More info will be given when booking.
The framework is based on functional and accessible
practices, incorporating elements of yoga therapy with a focus on spine safety.
Yoga therapy takes a holistic approach to better health by utilizing yoga tools
to address specific physical, mental, and emotional needs and goals. A spine-safe approach ensures that the spine receives the
necessary movement to remain healthy while modifying postures that may be
unsafe or harmful for some individuals. This functional approach
accommodates skeletal variations and prioritizes accessible postures for
everyone. Through my inclusive classes, I create a supportive space that allows
students to embrace their whole selves, enabling them to nurture and heal. I
emphasize the importance of working with our unique bodies and modifying our
practices to celebrate our individuality.
